Ki-Wi Kiosk
Ki-Wi Kiosk is an application for digital advertising kiosks. The main function of a digital kiosk is to provide access to information, primarily via special interactive applications and internet browsers.

Ki-Wi Kiosk also adds a very useful characteristic – making use of the moment when no-one is actively using the kiosk. At this moment a loop of advertising material or other information is screened. This can be comfortably managed and monitored by remote control via the internet service of Ki-Wi Server.
Digital advertising kiosks incorporate touch-sensitive displays or keyboards. At the touch of a key, or movement of a mouse, playback is interrupted and the internet browser is screened.
Kiosk
This is the first part of the Ki-Wi Kiosk application, which screens an internet browser or interactive application and is operated via a virtual or hardware keyboard. After a certain period of inactivity, media playback is activated. A touch on the screen or a pressed key switches the Ki-Wi Kiosk back to interactive mode and playback is interrupted.
Playback
This is the second part of the Ki-Wi Kiosk application and the practical heart of the Ki-Wi Player application. On the basis of content sent from the Ki-Wi Server, the player begins to screen individual media in the order and for the duration defined by the user.
Ki-Wi Kiosk supports the following media:
- Video, animation (mp4, flv, avi, wmv, m4v, mov, 3gp, mj2, asf)
- Audio (mp3)
- Images (jpg, png, gif)
- Websites (HTML, PHP, ASPX, ...)
- Components (news, weather, rolling subtitles, date and time)
Remote control
Besides content playback, it is possible to operate the player by remote control, e.g. to change content, stop playback, adjust volume, activate hidden playlists etc.
Reporting
When in idle mode the player sends information to the server about screened content. This data is displayed in the Ki-Wi Server and a regular report on content playback can be sent to an email address. When the interactive application is in use the player is stopped and does not send information about media playback.
Security
The interactive part of the Ki-Wi Kiosk application enables the possibility of limiting access only to approved websites. Downloading files from websites is forbidden and after extended periods of inactivity the application automatically redirects to the home website.
