Ki-Wi Server

Ki-Wi Server

Ki-Wi server is a multi-user internet service which enables digital panels to be controlled from any location connected to the internet.

The service is also suitable for bigger companies (e.g. advertising, franchising and retail) enabling them to transparently monitor and manage their clients’ (branches’) displays.

Characteristics

On activation, the digital panels automatically connect to the Ki-Wi Server. Via the internet interface the user can then comfortably operate the panels.

Operation takes the form of sending content – i.e. one or more playlists determining what media should be shown on the digital panel and in what order. Media is the general expression for the following supported types:

Media

The user uploads their own file (images, video, sound, animation) to a central storage site. The media can be divided into sections, or organised into content-related groups. Media also includes websites and components – pre-set blocks with weather forecasts, news, rolling subtitles and date/time.

Playlists

The user can comfortably create playlists, i.e. sequences of media items running in succession. These playlists can also be put into groups and sent, en-mass, to all displays (advertising campaigns). An overview of media and playlists is accessible via the Ki-Wi server.

Templates

Ki-Wi Server offers the possibility of dividing up the screen, with each part comprising of different material (playlists, media). The uploaded advertising or informational content can be supplemented with up-to-date news or weather reports.

Planning

Ki-Wi Server supports planning with up-to-the–minute accuracy, regular repetition at random intervals and the setting of weekly and monthly plans for playback on individual displays.
Each media item can be assigned a term of validity (e.g. only one month), specific days and weeks (e.g. only weekdays) and times of the day for screening (e.g. morning). In this way information and advertising content can be quickly and easily targeted.

Players

The Ki-Wi Server shows all the digital panels, including their current state (online/offline). Panels can be sent random content (playlists, templates), playback can be set, switch-off time can be set remotely, history of logins to the server and content played back can be monitored (e.g. monthly reports).

Tasks and monitoring

Ki-Wi Server supports the setting of regular tasks, such as sending weekly or monthly email reports or regularly switching off digital panels. It is also possible to monitor selected parts of the Ki-Wi Server – in the event of playback of a monitored item the relevant information is sent by email.

Users

The system is proposed for multiple-use. The operating organisation can allocate various levels of authorization to other people who have access to the Ki-Wi Server.

Administration of organisations

This function is suitable for larger companies and advertising agencies. The administrator of the company gains access to all its clients’ (organisations’) displays. Access is transparent and may serve both for monitoring individual organisations and for actual management of their displays.

Dynamic interface

The Ki-Wi Server interface is, to the greatest possible extent, dynamic and modern in appearance, with emphasis on simplicity of operation. Of course, it is protected using HTTPS protocol, which is used e.g. in internet banking.

Strong points
